Buy 25 Update

Buy 25 at Kroger is entering its eighth month. It is not only about buying, but also about dialogue with Kroger, including expressing our needs to the store, especially through the feedback forms.
Every time you shop, after you leave the checkout, but before you exit, look to your left for our Buy 25 box. (Right now it’s between the Simple Truth promo and the computer survey station.) The feedback forms on the front allow you to make comments, ask for products, offer suggestions, and write how much you spent – every day of the month! Or you can just slip your register receipt into the box. That indicates that you are an aware, involved shopper.
Here are some encouraging updates:

1. There is now an in-store display of all the organic products that are available in Kroger under the Simple Truth Organic brand. The display is near the produce section. The attached photo was taken early in January.
2. For more information about the organic products, use this link to the Simple Truth website.
3. From the recent feedback forms, a few items have been ordered: Florida’s Natural Orange Juice without Pulp (in the store now) and Almond extract (to be on shelves soon)
4. We have heard very good reports about the Dave Dillon (Kroger CEO) visit in December. Our community really turned out and we hope to continue showing our support for the grocery in our neighborhood.

Help Design Walnut Hills

It’s our turn to tell the City of Cincinnati exactly how we want Walnut Hills to look now and in the future as the neighborhood continues to grow and develop. When you walk down E. McMillan St., what do you like? What do you want to see changed? The City will be creating a Form-based Code Overlay for our neighborhood, and having neighborhood residents be part of the process is crucial to it’s success!

The Important Dates and Times:
Two Centennial Plaza (Downtown)
805 Central Avenue, 4th Floor

Monday, Oct. 29th at 6:00pm – The opening session. We’ll break into groups
by neighborhood to tell the consultant team what our vision is for Walnut Hills.

Wednesday, Oct. 31st, all day – Stop by anytime to discuss and put pen to paper to help design our neighborhood and business district overlay. Kevin and Andrew will be there all day! And at 6pm, everyone will come together for the pin-up and a discussion of the work.

We can’t wait to show the City a big crowd of engaged Walnut Hills residents!

Buy 25: with food trucks & bikes!

THIS Tuesday, Sep 25, 4:00-8:00 p.m. @ Kroger

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the last ‘Buy 25′ Tuesday event, where we brought it $4,500 in new revenue for the store! Help us break the $10,000 monthly goal once again. Here’s what’s new this time:

1. There will be three food trucks joining us in the Kroger parking lot! EAT, C’est Cheese!, and Mobile Coldstone Creamery are all planning to be there. So come grab some food and chat with us before you head in to do your gro
cery shopping.

2. Queen City Bike is organizing a ride to the Walnut Hills store! More details to come, but we expect to have bike racks conveniently located.

Event Description Recap:
Walnut Hills Buy 25 is a community partnership that envisions the Walnut Hills Kroger as a focal point of the community. We want to help Kroger contribute to the redevelopment of the Walnut Hills business district. Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month we will host a community shopping night to build a community of local shoppers. If 200 new shoppers spend $25 at our events then the store will be profitable and it will both stay in the neighborhood and improve the shopping experience for everyone.
